a new decade!!

It's hard to believe a new decade has begun! We had a FABULOUS time on NYE and I will post pictures later. We actually just stayed at home but we cooked a great meal, hung out with some of our best friends and enjoyed celebrating the new year. Since a new decade is upon us, I wanted to take some time to reflect on the last 10 years as well as "predict" what the next decade holds. A lot has changed in 10 years and I have changed and grown up tremendously. During the years 2000-2009, here are some things that happened to me...
played my last high school basketball game

i graduated from high school

went to niagara falls with the shoemaker family for the first time (and have been countless times after that)

moved from houston to abilene to start college

enjoyed living with 9 different roommates during my 4 years of college

lead a spring break campaign to Trinidad

stood beside my sisters and best friends on their wedding days

earned a college degree in Family Studies

took many road trips with family and friends

worked at Old Navy, Kids Fun Camp, Harris County Boot Camp, ACU writing center, Highland CofC during MOPS, cleaned houses, babysat, University of Chicago, Junior Achievement, tutored kids in an after school program

had my first sip of alcohol

became an aunt

married the love of my life and boyfriend since i was 16

moved to chicago after only 3 weeks of being married

learned how to use public transportation

saw God work a miracle in my family

ran my first marathon

learned how to survive real winters

discovered my love for cooking and baking

realized how much i love eating sushi

lost 1 grandparent

cut 11 inches off my hair and donated it to locks of love

bought our first house

traveled to san francisco/sonoma 3 times

moved from chicago to dallas

became the wife of a hard-working attorney

had poison ivy for the first and only time in my life...it lasted for over a month!

my faith was tested a whole lot

saw my first no-hitter baseball game...GO SOX!!

discovered my passion for under-privledged children and adoption

During the years 2010-2019, here are some things I hope/predict will happen to me...
i will learn to speak spanish fluently

i will travel to europe...italy is my first choice :)

we will expand our family of two to a family of many

i will get and stay caught up with my scrapbook for each year

run another marathon

my sewing abilities will grow tremendously

God will use me to bring others to love Jesus

take another mission trip

start my own business

live somewhere else other than dallas

adopt

grow in my faith and relationship with the Lord

and much, much more!!

i am thankful for this time to reflect on the past but to also look forward to the future and what's to come. maybe i will keep up with this blog a bit better in this new decade too :)
