I know we are several days into January already, but I wanted to take some time to reflect back on 2008. Here are some highlights from our year:
in january we placed membership at our church and have loved being a part of RE, my mom & sisters came up to stay for the weekend
in february we hosted our first wine tasting party, obama won the first primary, jordan & kelci came to visit
in march i hosted a baby shower for my sister, got a week off for spring break
in april i got a promotion at work, became an aunt to baby #6--Peyton Poe Alexander was born, spent easter with family,
in may i became an aunt again to baby #7--Hallie Elizabeth Poe was born, laura graduated from acu, anthony worked a TON (not really a highlight but a memory),
in june summer started! celebrated laura & jon's wedding in houston, found out jordan & kelci were having a baby, spent a few days in austin with my sister and her kids
in july i started a new job, traveled to Mexico with my mom & kim, went to waco for my niece Elizabeth's 3rd birthday party, celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary and bought our first house--lots of blessings this month :)
in august we purchased our first "grown up" furniture, traveled in CA for 9 days, school started
in september we celebrated my dad's 60th birthday with a fun party, traveled to new orleans, kevin came to visit for 5 days and went to austin city limits music festival
in october we went to acu homecoming, anthony got to visit his grandparents in niagara falls, work became less stressful, got to see a good friend from chicago,
in november we voted for our next president, i celebrated my 27th birthday, ran the turkey trot, had a wonderful thanksgiving with the in-laws, had a romantic weekend with my hubby
in december our house was decorated for christmas, had our first ever puerto rican feast, spent lots of quality time with friends and family and ate way too much
we are so very blessed and are thankful we get to do so many fun things and spend time with lots of great people. there are so many other wonderful things about 2008, these are just a few i want to remember. i look forward to the start of a new year and all God has in store for us for 2009. i'm sure there will be changes and challenges but i hope we'll look at all of them as blessings!
